Oregon Green School Summit

The Kelly Creek Aarvark Recycling team once again, went to the Summit.  We have participated every year they have held this event.

This year we traved by bio-diesel powered school bus to the Eugene Faith Center.  We shared the bus with several other green teams from our neighboring schools.

The kids enjoyed a full day of learning at small group sessions, some of the topics included: Reuse art (making things out of scraps and old items that might normally be thrown away.)  Grow your own food.   Worm bin composting.  Rain gardens.  waste audits.  Paper making.

We all learned things.  We all had fun.  We are very lucky that our haulers sponsor us to attend this event each year.

Jan Rankin, our area schools recycling coordinator from the City of Gresham made sure all the planning and and bus arrangements were taken care of.  She does so much for her schools.
